Passeig de Gràcia and the Block of Discord
Passeig de Gràcia is a main street of the Eixample district in Barcelona. It once linked the city with the old village of Gràcia, and later it became a street of bourgeois town houses. Casa Batlló is at number 43 and Casa Milà at number 92.
The best known stretch is the Block of Discord, in Catalan Illa de la Discòrdia or Mançana de la Discòrdia. It is a group of houses in different Modernisme styles by different architects. Not all of them are by Gaudí. If you want to go inside the best known one, compare the Casa Batlló ticket types first.

The five houses and their architects
One block, five architects.
| House | Architect | Go inside? |
|---|---|---|
| Casa Batlló | Antoni Gaudí | Yes, with a ticket |
| Casa Amatller | Josep Puig i Cadafalch | Yes, the noble floor, with audio or a live guide |
| Casa Lleó Morera | Lluís Domènech i Montaner | See the architecture from the street |
| Casa Mulleras | Enric Sagnier | From the street |
| Casa Josefina Bonet | Marcel·lí Coquillat | From the street |
For most visitors, the best plan is a slow walk along the block and one interior: Casa Batlló if you want Gaudí, Casa Amatller if you prefer a visit of about 45 minutes.
